How it all began…

bc499ben-daraztkarskiHave you ever wondered how did it happen that such brand as Cocoa appeared on the market at all? It is obvious that by starting any project you need inspiration, idea, passion, a lot of time and perseverance and only if all those elements are combined something extraordinary may be developed. Ant that was exactly the case in our company…

The idea of manufacturing the chocolate came to our minds in 2009. At the very beginning we checked the possibilities and were looking for some niche on the market. It is sufficient to look at the shelf with chocolates at the grocer’s shop in order to see how far the range reaches,  how big the competition is and how difficult it is going to be for two people to start with something completely new. Just for two people?! Yes. Literally for two people because the most of preparations and the initial manufacturing were carried out by only two people! We will tell you more about us later on – and now let’s concentrate on the start-up of our company.

We have been looking for about half a year for some place in Poland, where we could buy the raw cocoa beans but we have not found it. If there is no such place here, maybe we will start importing the beans from abroad and begin producing chocolate out of them? This options seemed interesting for us and that is whay we have chosen it. So we had theoretically the raw ingredient but we wanted to produce chocolate out of raw bean. In October 2009 we saw an advertisement in the newspaper in which we noticed this stunner – dragee drum SPOMASZ from 1974 and 120 liter heat boiler with stirrer from 1992. We paid for the whole equipment 22.000 PLN gross. It was quite big amount of money – as for our contemporary means but we were ready to start with our manufacturing!

The bought equipment enabled us to produce chocolate out of cocoa butter, ground palm sugar and cocoa in powder. Usually, the boiler is too primitive device to grate the bean. The acquisition of  ball mill and its modernization enabled us to become the bean-to-bear manufacturer, but you will learn more about this in the next entries…
